WACCI Masters Plant Breeding Scholarships for Sub-Saharan African Students – University of Ghana – DEADLINE EXTENDED


WACCI Masters Plant Breeding Scholarships 2022: It has been agreed that the DAAD would collaborate with the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI) by giving up to 3 in-country and 6 in-region Master’s plant breeding scholarships for the intake 2022.

*This Call is an update of the Call for In-Country/In-Region Scholarships at WACCI (Ghana) launched in September 2021, with an initial start date of August 2022. WACCI has postponed the program’s launch date until January 2023. As a result, the deadline for applications has been extended, and the Call has been revised. Please contact the WACCI for more information if you have already applied for this award.

African countries are eligible to participate.

To be taken in the following country: Ghana

Master’s level

Applicants for WACCI Masters Plant Breeding Scholarships must meet the following criteria:

Master’s candidates must have obtained a three-year university degree (at least: Second Class/Upper Division).

Demonstrate clear motivation and a strong commitment.

have a thorough understanding of the teaching language

having achieved their most recent university degree within the last 6 years at the time of application

must be citizens or permanent residents of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa

Should ideally be a) a public university employee, b) a candidate for teaching or research staff recruitment, c) from the public sector, and d) a DAFI alumnus.

Female applicants, as well as people from underserved regions or groups, are especially encouraged to apply.
