Strike by ASUU!! I’m Ready To Go To Jail – Sowore Calls For Mass Protests And Promises To Shut Down The Economy

Omoyele Sowore, a popular Nigerian activist and presidential candidate in 2023, has launched a statewide protest against the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (ASUU) strike.
The union that shut down public colleges on February 14 over demands that have yet to be met by the Federal Government has prolonged the strike for another 12 weeks, according to Naijaloaded.

Students and parents have expressed their dissatisfaction with the university strikes, which have continued to elicit reactions.

Sowore responded by saying he is willing to go to prison to guarantee that Nigerian students receive justice in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter account.

Activists who organized the protest advised all students to be prepared to shut down everything until the Federal Government resolves the professors’ difficulties.

He explained,

“I urge Nigerian students to stand up to the callous @MBuhari Regime.” We’re planning a nationwide protest.

“Please signal your willingness; don’t be afraid; I am willing to go to prison or give my life to assure your future.”

“Nigerian youths and students must teach these callous political rulers who are playing Russian roulette with their future a harsh lesson.”

“Let the organizing begin right now, shut down everything with mass action, and put a stop to everything until our higher education institutions are adequately funded #WeCantContinueLikeThis,” said the group.

Guys,

Do you believe this is the best method for ending the strike?
