Buhari Lastly Lifts Ban On Twitter

The Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the suspension of the ban positioned on the micro running a blog website, Twitter.

The choice was introduced by the Chairman Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement and Director-Basic Nationwide Data Expertise Improvement Company (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE.

In a press release in Abuja, he mentioned the approval was given following a memo written to the President by Minister of Communications and Digital Financial system, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim.

He mentioned:

“The Federal Authorities of Nigeria (FGN) directs me to tell the general public that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has permitted the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operation in Nigeria efficient from 12am tonight, thirteenth January 2022.

“The approval was given following a memo written to the President by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Financial system, Prof Isa Ali Ibrahim.

“Within the Memo, the Minister up to date and requested the President’s approval for the lifting primarily based on the Technical Committee Nigeria-Twitter Engagement’s advice.”
