Banky W, a Nigerian singer, actor, and politician, has called for the National Youth Services Corps to be abolished.
Banky W claimed in a recent interview with Channels TV that many Nigerian kids do not require NYSC. He claims that they only go because it is required, and that those who do not go bribe authorities to sign their forms.
Banky W recommended that the federal government make it optional and let those who require it to apply. He further claims that if the government follows his suggestion, resources will be saved that can be put to better use in other areas of society.
