The PDP presidential candidate and former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, claimed on Tuesday that he would materialize the Igbo presidency if elected in 2023.
Abubakar made the promise at the PDP South-East Zonal Stakeholders Meeting on Tuesday in Enugu.
He stated that he chose Igbo men to be his running mates in the 2011 and 2019 elections because he had such a strong affinity for Ndigbo.
Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta, another Igbo guy, was chosen by Abubakar as his running mate for the 2023 election.
Therefore, why do you claim that I won’t give Igbos a fair chance to run the nation after my term as president?
“I did it in 2019 when I introduced Obi and a second Obi in 2011, and for 2023 I chose Ifeanyi Okowa, another Igbo man, as my running mate despite Ohaneze’s assertion that no Igbo should run for President under the PDP.
According to him, the nation must be made appealing in order to keep people there and encourage them to pay their fair share to its growth.
If elected, according to Abubakar, his administration would offer high-quality education to enable youths to acquire the necessary skills and competencies for a contemporary economy.
If elected, the PDP presidential candidate also pledged to establish a high-quality healthcare system.
